The product my team and I chose to review was red Bull. We chose Red Bull because it was a great idea for an advertisement and it would be super challenging to us and it would also create a better learning experience. The Red Bull commercial gave challenging conventions such as making sure the commercial was exciting and adventurous. It was also as challenging making sure to emphasize the use of the Red Bull in the commercial.  It was difficult because we had to do all of our clips in school.  This made it particularly difficult to make the commercial super adventurous and different when that is what the brand RedBull stands for and advertises with. When filming these clips on school grounds, there is a lot less expansion of creativity because there are particular limits to things you can do as well as film. It would have been much more exciting if we got to go out of school bounds to find a nice area that would make the scenes look more exciting and adventurous. These problems

Commercial Recap Blog

My team and I are very proud of our final product on this commercial project. We love the clips and the editing that we put so much dedication and time into completing. Darrow was a fantastic actor who definitely played his part in our project and he contributed a lot to our editing process and Ella was an amazing editor and backup filmer. It was a very fun and insightful process to make our commercial and to see how it really is to put together an idea and bring it to life through videos and editing. Ella, Darrow and I inputed a lot of hard work into perfecting our commercial and we are very proud of our team. As a team, we all worked well together, communicated well, and got the project done in no time! It was no struggle to ever get any help on something another member didn't understand because someone was always there offering a helping hand in the process. We all played our separate roles in order to create this final product.  The music, the editing, and the clips all came t

For editing day two, my team and I went over all clips and provided seamless transitions. Ella and I went through all the clips to shorten some and to add some time on others that were needed for our commercial. It was an easy as well as laid back day because we had all of our clips set up and everything was in our advertisement. The music we added on in the previous class was perfect. I personally re-edited the photo that freezes in the end of our commercial with the logo, and the saying "RedBull Gives You Wiiings". I had to do extra research because in some commercials the slogan used has one letter I and in others they had three. I found out that newer versions of the commercials and slogan had three I's and the older ones had one. I had to re-edit our photo and make sure everything was perfect and I tried to make sure it did not look to edited but rather more professional. Darrow went over the clips with Ella to verify that everything looked good and was in the corr

Today in class, my team and I edited our commercial. We started off by gathering all of our clips and choosing our favorite ones, we used the app iMovie and we created our advertisement on there. We started off with the beginning track scenes where Darrow is running and he gets tired, another student comes up to him and hands him a RedBull, Darrow then takes a sip and becomes filled with energy. Darrow is now running faster than ever. I added in another clip of him jumping over an obstacle on the field in slow motion just to add a cool variation to guide the transition of the music. After this scene, we get to Darrow skating scenes, we have a scene in front of him skating, by his feet, and a slow motion video of him doing a trick. We added the trick because it was so cool and it added an element of fun to our advertisement. After these scenes were over, the last scene included Darrow jumping in the air, the video freezes and we put in the photo of Darrow with wings and a RedBull in hi

For the second day of filming I was absent from school, however, I saw all of the clips from the scenes recorded. What was recorded was the scenes of Darrow on the track. Darrow was on the track running and was going very slow, he gets tired and goes to take a break. The he's taking a break, another student notices that he is exhausted and offers hi a RedBull energy drink. Darrow drinks the energy drink then gains lots of speed. The other clip was a slow motion of him opening the RedBull just to give it a more dramatic effect. After this scene, we have a clip of Darrow jumping over obstacles on the track. These clips were done in slow motion just to give the scenes a cooler edge. After this, my team gathered and chose a song. The clips came out amazing, and the song that was chosen was perfect for what we are trying to accomplish with our commercial. It had even previously been used by a Nike advertisement. At the end of our commercial my team and I agreed to editing a photo of Da

The first day of filming we only recorded a few clips. Only one of our team members were at school and the other team member who was supposed to be included in our scene was not in class. However, Darrow and I recorded the scenery with the skate clips. We did multiple scenes. One of our scenes was Darrow skating down the hallway on his skateboard, the other clips were Darrow going down a walkway that slopes downward. In the scene where Darrow went down the walkway that sloped, we did majority of the scene in slow action shots. We performed a high rise shot, and a low shot by his feet. Another scene we created was Darrow doing a trick on his skateboard in the air in slow motion, and Darrow whipping the skateboard around the corner of a walkway. The next scenes we need to shoot will include Darrow running on the track acting exhausted, Darrow receiving a RedBull and drinking it, and then Darrow running the track perfectly. After all of our scenes are complete, Ella and I will edit the sc
