Editing Blog #2
For editing day two, my team and I went over all clips and provided seamless transitions. Ella and I went through all the clips to shorten some and to add some time on others that were needed for our commercial. It was an easy as well as laid back day because we had all of our clips set up and everything was in our advertisement. The music we added on in the previous class was perfect. I personally re-edited the photo that freezes in the end of our commercial with the logo, and the saying "RedBull Gives You Wiiings". I had to do extra research because in some commercials the slogan used has one letter I and in others they had three. I found out that newer versions of the commercials and slogan had three I's and the older ones had one. I had to re-edit our photo and make sure everything was perfect and I tried to make sure it did not look to edited but rather more professional. Darrow went over the clips with Ella to verify that everything looked good and was in the correct order. After we ensured our clips were all right. We changed certain timing of different types of clips. We added a slow motion impact to a particular clips that made our actor Darrow look like he was being professionally shot by a videographer. The hardest part of our process of making the commercial was definitely the time it took to film and refill continuous scenes. The easiest part of the entire process was our editing because Ella, Darrow and I worked together as a team and got the task done quickly. I had to figure out a way to transfer our video into another document so Darrow and I could turn it in and we finally figured it out. The clips were given length and others had length taken away and this gave us a much better product as a result. We had to make sure to include more shots of the RedBull so that the commercial still has the attention to the RedBull product. We made sure to see that the font of the RedBull logo and slogan matched with our photo and we completed our project. Ella, Darrow and I were very happy about the result.
